I found one of these at work a week ago. It was lurking under a storage shelf in our store and has probably been under there for 20+ years. We pulled it out today and started to clean it up. To assist us with putting it back to use can anyone help with a copy of the manual for the machine?

      Thanks

      Martin

I think Chester machine tools now own Brierley so they should be able to provide the necessary support.

AFAIK, the 21, 25 and 32 in the model name referred to the biggest tool that would fit through the spindle. In most other respects, the machines were the same, so a manual for any will do.

Tony at lathes.co.uk sells badly-photocopied incomplete manuals with thumbprints and distorted pages but on very good heavyweight paper.

Hi Martin, You are unlikely to get much help from chester/brierly ! The machine is so old their not interested, I know, I have one ! What do you need to know ? I have a ZB32 and manual, at least some of the info applies to the ZB21. Cams are almost £100 each. GoodLuck Noel

There is also a ZB25 manual available at a price much more commensurate with its quality on eBay. The seller is fazerblazer and full seller contact details can be seen without logging in – Premier Machine Tools in Nottingham.

As for the cams, they are fairly easy to duplicate if you can find someone who has one to copy. Just put on a rotary table and map the rise every couple of degrees of rotation.

Find someone with a CNC machine with an A-axis and a touch probe and the mapping could be done almost automatically.

Not knocking it, but “digitally remastered in A4 format for easy reading” is an interesting interpretation of “Seller refurbished”. … I suppose we are just witnessing the evolution of the language, to keep pace with technology.
