Does anyone have any wisdom on using the water from a dehumidifier in a boiler for a steam engine?

My workshop is in a cellar,. It is linked to the central heating in Winter, but in Summer needs a dehumidifier to keep the rust at bay. It produces many litres of water per Summer. Plenty for my needs. But does it have any snags?

I have read lots about boiler water, but no mention of dehumidifiers.

the water from a dehumidifier is "pure", it's effectively distilled water. So it is soft water and can be used in boilers safely with no risk of furring up due to limescale being dissolved in it.

It's pure enough to be used in car batteries.

          Regards ian

Don't know about boilers, but I use it instead of distilled for batteries, no probs so far (10 years ?) Also used for cleaning, solvent etc. . I think you need to check the air filter to make sure there is no dust getting in.
