      Just a follow up.

I ordered some Gloves in Bottle from the UK and the delivery arrived a week ago. To say that I am impressed with this product would be an understatement.

Thank you very much for recommending this, fantastic stuff and my hands thank you!

For those in the UK, Gloves in a Bottle is on offer in Superdrug at £8.00 for the 240ml at the moment. I bought some yesterday but haven't had chance to try it yet.

Just picking up on this thread and another thumbs up for Gloves in a Bottle. I acquired a part bottle and have been using it for a few months now and I must admit to being very impressed especially after a couple of days machining CI. Initially I was putting too much on my hands, now I put a small blob on in the morning and then top it up with a tiny spot after lunch, on clean hands of course, it then lasts the rest for the of the day.

I have just finished a painting job using a polyurethane based paint and applied a very small amount of Gloves in a Bottle to my hands before starting. As expected, my hands got covered in paint.

A wipe over with a cloth dampened with acetone paint thinner and a wash under water with a hand cleaner and the paint removed. This was a days work and my hands where washed 3 or 4 times. (No extra Gloves added). At the end of the day, a quick scrub with a nail brush removed all of the paint around my nails. Even after having acetone on my hands, my skin was still moist and not dried out.

Gloves in a Bottle is more than just a barrier cream and recommended.

            Paul.

My barrier cream experiment has finished and the results are in.

Dri-guard is the winner. Nice smell and easily absorbed.

PR88 (smells like marzipan [may be a good thing]) and has a weird texture.

Gloves in a bottle smells awful and was really sticky.

I didn't notice much performance wise but definitely was put off by the others but this is very much a personal thing.

As someone who in the past would not use a barrier cream I am now a convert.

              Regards.

              David.

                David Colwill:

Your three products all have the advantage that they provide a way of testing one's sense of smell!

I am a long-term PR88 user but I will look out for the other two. PR88 is designed to wash off (along with any contamination) with cold water, so is not suitable for jobs involving water. It's horses for courses again.

I am against the use of strong solvents for hand cleaning.

Interesting you find Gloves in a Bottle sticky David, I wonder if you are putting toom uch on your hands? I started off putting about the same as I would have when I used barrier cream at work but quickly discovered that a small blob about the size of my little fingernail is plenty. I might try the other two when this lot of GiaB runs out…

As for a sense of smell, I normally don't have one so it could smell of old socks and it wouldn't matter wink
