I'm at the stage of making crankpins for my 5inch gauge loco and i am unsure as to how the coupling rods are retained on the crankpins. I've searched through my available ME magazines from the 50's and 60's but every reference I've found usually dismisses this detail as having been 'described many times previously".
Can someone please tell me how it is normally done? I don't want to have to remove and remake crankpins after they've been pressed home.
The original drawings for the full-size loco shows threaded ends on the crankpins with special shaped nuts which are also pinned once fitted, but this seems a bit fiddly for a miniature version.
All suggestions gratefully received.
