This is a traction engine that belonged to my deceased father. My sister has owned it for 10 years or so and have managed to break it, lose parts and generally abuse it. So I purchased it off her and now I want to restore it.

Can anyone identify it from the images?

The oscillating cylinder/piston and safety valve look like a Mamod, which suggests the boiler is too. The rest looks scratch built?

A much modified Mamod traction engine. Does the footplate section come off? Has it been converted to spirit firing?

When I was young, like 45-50 years ago I am sure it ran on meths. Its so gunked up I am scared to pull anything to hard. But I will clean it up and and try.
