I’ve just had to cut a slice off a lump of metal. It really was the quickest way to remove the excess material, with the added bonus of a bit of extra stock left over!

The block was 120mm x 3″ (Not 2″/50.8mm as I wrote on the offcut…) and I needed to cut about 10mm off. Saw alignment is fairly good with thickness of the offcut only varying by 0.5mm over the whole part.

Pretty pleased!
