Can't see why not although there can be no guarantees as t the amount of interest from other forum users but this is the same for pretty much all build threads , maybe post a preview to show what you intend to build ? Are you intending to build this from your own drawings or a set of plans that you have purchased ? Either way you may also want to look at doing a write up for M.E for the model and MEW custom tooling and fixtures you may have had to make .

I'd be very interested to read about making a model, and the tooling to make certain parts. What sort of piece are you thinking of?

I would welcome an artillery build log. Although artillery is not my thing I am always interested in how others approach modelling problems and engineered models of any subject are interesting to me.

I too would be very interested.

There's an example, at Churchill's hose at Chartwell – a very detailed model of a WW1 'Male' tank 6-pounder installation. I just wish there were a source for the plans.

I don’t make models, but the ways that machinining problems are overcome (or not) interests me. The more solutions to a holding or cutting problem, that may arise in the future, the easier the task of getting it done effectively.

Tanks for the feedback , what I had in mind or started to have ago building is the Vickers BL 8inch Howitzer mark vi of 1917 ,no build drawings as such only pictures and a operators manual that has some useful drawings on it , sort of trying to build this in a 2 inch scale [so it goes with the minnie steam engine that I have not finished yet ] anyway reason for asking is that there are not many build logs covering this sort of thing ,I new nothing about a cannon month or so ago but the more i read into it, the more i wan't to have a go building a model of one

                                Thanks Mal.

Why not write it up for ME or MEW. Then you get some dosh (a very poor hourly rate if my contributions are anything to go by), and possibly a wider audience

Mal, if you put 8" Howitzer into the search box on the home page you will find a few threads about one that was on the site a few years back.

I do like the Fowler modelled in a military finish, I think that looks really excellent.

Interesting how the gun has traction engine type wheels, I guess in those days if large wheels were needed for heavy equipment that was the way to go.
