Yep, certainly was one. Its irritating when one takes the trouble to carefully craft a reply in the hopes that it may be of general use to folk with similar issues and the thing disappears.

Especially so when you realise that you should have saved your bit for future use.

Right enough, I read and posted in it

Don't recall any product being plugged which would threaten advertisers and any spam post could be edited out

The mods may be able to clarify

It was a rather odd post. The phraseology was not English, more US. The OP ignored the replies and just asked for recommendations. I suspect something suspicious caused the mods to delete it.

The new member subsequently decided to post links promoting a drill sharpener.

I hand my suspicions when I first approved their first post as that type of post is quite common though you probably don't get to see them as they get deleted PDQ but decided to let it go.

Another member Reported his second post before I could read through the latest posts and I acted accordingly.

Yes Blowlamp your sexist remarks were the final straw in that "truth" thread and got it locked, again your comments were reported by other members so not just the view of the Moderators.

Hi Jason, I had a PM from Hugh at Amaseal a few days ago sugesting I might like to visit their east London showroom to view mini lathes, and warning about another supplier, Is this normal ? Noel.

He hasn’t … but his edit is ‘signed’ and it probably took me less than three seconds to work out which lines were his.

Obviously I don’t know what you wrote, and Jason deleted … but presumably that was the point of the exercise.
