      Hi all.

Does anyone know of a company who supply drawings and castings for a 7.1/4" gauge Schools Class locomotive.

      Regards.

      Scruffy B

I suspect that an enquiry from this society would be the most fruitful. Until recently a fellow ADMES member owned one, I believe the original owner built it in 1936 but my colleague maintained it well and had it re-boilered. I also believe it was featured in the not too distant past in the 7.25" society magazine.

That great Bob, thanks for the link.

I have been looking for a GWR Hall loco design for a while. I went to school for a few years in a building that had had one of the loco's named after it. I had never seen a photo of the loco until a couple of weeks ago, and the only part of the loco that survives is the nameplate, which stood at the school entrance by the time I went there.

Well, it appears Greenly did a 5" gauge design. Never knew that.

              As I said. Thanks Bob.

              Regards,

              Richard.

                  Good evening Richard,

The Greenly Hall is a very poor representation and a very dated design, I remember seeing one many years ago, it were orrible! If you are interested in the Hall class locomotive, then have a look at the Polly engineering site: –

They do a Hall and a good one at that..

                    Hi.

Thanks for the replies. Polly's Schools class is 5". How do I get in touch with Jessy Moody.

Thanks for that too, Bob. I have to confess with such little visibility of the Hall class in the net, I doubt if I'd ever have noticed the problems with the Greenly design, but the newer one does seem to be more presentable. Up 'til now all I've seen is the 2.5" LBSC design reprinted by TEE (Mabel Hall), and LBSC admits in his pre-amble it's not a copy, just something to give a 'feel' of the loco.

                      Regards,

                      Richard.
