Can anybody tell me where I can find some taper pins with the large end approx 3/16

Also how are taper pins categorized into different sizes

Try EKP, they also have reamers to suit

Categorized by nominal dia which is the large end x length. Imperial are 1:48 taper, metric 1:50

Dougie: Beware, the old BS standard for imperial taper pins is as Jason says, the nominal diameter is the large end. However, the newer DIN standards for metric taper pins quote the nominal diameter at the small end.
