With the very kind help of a fellow MEer, I have my Boxford lathe with reverse and coolant facilities.

A much bigger job than anticipated as I'm more used to 3ph and am now on 1 ph.

Useful in other ways as I found the primary drive belt about to break.

Just be very careful using reverse if its the screw on chuck model. Slow speed only else you will easily spin the chuck off.

For its size they are a great lathe and are a very capable tool if its set up right.

          Enjoy.

Thanks for that MalcB, I tend to wait until the chuck has stopped before reversing after my previous lathe with 3ph and wet plate clutch, spun off a 12" chuck through over enthusiastic reversing.

I think it's worth leaving the comment on here as a warning to others.
