Young Women into steam

I was at MOSI yesterday, taking my 20 month old girl for her first ride on an 040. They had been warming the big mill engine for 2 hours and were about to start it when I made the comment 'You cant start that, your a girl!'. My wife was with me so it was meant tongue in cheek but it didn't go down well at all !! Said young lady later informed me that more than half the 'steam people' at MOSI are female. There's hope for humanity yet!

Was there on Sunday admiring the mill engine and it was pleasantly surprised to see it manned by a female. Wish SWMBO would have such enthusiasm lol – only got to go round the musuem to kill time waiting for the Coronation Street tour round the corner…..

Cannot remember the name of the engine, but it had 2 pistons pointing up at 45° to the crank and running on only 2psi – unless of course the gauge was faulty….if anyone knows the name of it I would like to model that.
