      Windows time drifts more than other operating systems and can be off by tens of seconds even if the user has synchronisation switched on. Not sure why; probably the OS simply doesn't check an internet time service all that often, and relies on whatever clock happens to be in the computer, good or bad!

      Anyone who wants to check their computer's time-keeping can click on time.is At the moment time.is says of my Linux workstation: The difference from Time.is was +0.131 seconds (±0.169 seconds).

        Slightly intriguing annoyance on my dual-boot PC is that if I use Linux followed by Windows during BST, the Windows time is an hour out (i.e. GMT) until resynched manually.
