Oh have got a bit further with the Gearbox and been able to bolt it all together for the first time and attach the pulleys and the motor on is new plate to see if it will all work together. It looks promising and much better this way around. I had to use a three pronged puller to get pulley back off as it would not come off and was a bit stubborn . Armed with a video from Toby am going to work out an electrical drawing to see how reversing can be simplified.

pined and connected top half to the lathe

Checked new position for motor and that it has some clearance to rise on swing seat

Mounted up with belts awaiting them to stretch as they were taken apart to clean . All bolted up to see how it all sits in the bottom frame . No electrics wired back on yet still working on circuit diagram.

        Mounted up with belts

I'm not familiar with the Grainger but I have a Dewhurst surplus to requirements here if of interest. Contact me off-list.

Hi Brian sorry didnt see this I finally have Dupar Dewhurst switch for connecting this up it looks quite straight forward to wire and have put a new box on the kitty motor. My only question is which way does this type a mount up . I have seen many odd looking mounts on ebay, but there is no images on google showing where they fit on the lathe can anyone help is the round side top with the leaver up or is it with label horizontal and the arm in the horizontal plane to switch on? Thanks for looking M
