I was appalled when I saw on KitKat wrappers “Do not recycle -UK, return wrapper to shop”

in France we recycle almost all packaging, certainly sweet wrappers, cling film, al foil, polystyrene etc etc.

why would Kit Kat be exempt??

Bit like pill packaging due to being two materials stuck together that are more costly to separate so they are not accepted for local collection. Still made out of mostly recycled material.

You can recycle pill packaging at larger branches of Boots.

Our local Morrisons accepts soft plastics such as confectionary wrappers and crisp packets, as well as bubble wrap and polythene.
Also some Superdrug branches have a collection box for pill wrapper recycling.

Home collection recycling bin for paper/cardboard, tins & glass bottles, PET containers, & Tetrapacks etc.

Crazy that we are using the last reserves of one of our most valuable resources to wrap biscuits and wipe children’s ar***…

Exactly, couldn’t agree more! What happened to the big push to reduce plastic packaging?

Wouldn’t have anything to do with money, now would it?

Surely not! Reading between the lines, plastics are recycled either by being sent to landfill in 3rd world countries, or being baled up and stored on an industrial site until it’s full, when it mysteriously catches fire

If you look into “recycling”, you’d be shocked at how much just doesn’t happen.

                        It truly is a shock!

Duncan, your post made me chuckle ! Sad thing is that it is true.

I was in Nairobi for a couple of weeks for work about 6 years ago now, traffic was awful 2hrs to travel 6 miles nobody turned their engines off, black exhaust smoke belching from knackered old truck engines and everywhere seemed piled high of mountains of burning plastic rubbish.

Breathing in that lot for 2 weeks probably shortened my lifespan of at least a month.

Recycling works !!! but only if some one can make money out of it ! Noel.

Recycling is a joke nothing more, nothing less !

Why produce this crap if you have no way to get rid of it ?

Why does EVERYTHING have to be wrapped in plastic ??
