I had guessed there would be some sort of spoiler format for the forum, since there isn't people who have poor internet are gonna have to suffer at the 30 images

Images were given to me by Phil P from this forum (posted with his permission).

Some images appear pure white on my computer but not sure if my screen is just not picking up faint text (which it sometimes tends to do)

      1-2 Headstock

3-4 Spindle indexing and collet lever

5-8 Tailstock: body, screw spindle, lever action spindle

9-12 Compound slide: Screw and lever actions

      13-14 Cut off slide

15-18 Capstan unit (what got me all this in the first place)

19-20 Vertical milling slide and vice

      21-22 Bar feed

23-24 Motor and drive unit for bench lathes

25-26 Overhead drive unit for bench lathes (for grinding spindles, etc)

27-28 Motor and drive unit for cabinet lathes

29-30 Overhead drive unit for cabinet lathes

There is another version of the headstock bearing arrangement. No thrust race. It uses a hardened sleeve instead. I suspect this is the very high speed model.

There seems to be several different motor drive units with or without a clutch.

Some 1770's use a headstock riser block and 50 head but with a 70mm centre height tailstock.

Surprisingly some slides use normal gib strips rather than tapered ones. I suspect both these and the high speed model were mostly made during the war. Colour and finish etc can be as it usually is.

The headstock bearings clamp down solid onto shims. As they are supposed to run hot and tight and need running in adjustment is unlikely to be just a case of removing shimming.

Just thought it was worth adding this to the thread.
