Power Drive for Sieg super x3 mill

I have purchased a new Sieg Super X3 Mill, and will soon want to add a power drive to the table, Arc Euro say it can be done but will not reccomend any manufacturer, the American wesites list them, but I want to buy in this Country, My question is does anyone know of a UK supplier of a suitable power Feed.

I think the Axminster one will fit but not cheap. There are several home brew ones on teh web that use things like car wiper motors.

Be aware that some post-fit mill power feed units are 110V, so the transformer is an unexpected extra cost.

If you have an X3 making you own power feed should be within your capabilities.

An alternative would be to fit stepper motors to the X3, I would have thought Arc could supply those.

Sieg make a power feed for their mills. I have one on my SX3 which was purchased with the mill in Australia from Hare and Forbes. It runs on 240 V. You should be able to get one from your supplier in the UK.

The power drive is the best accessory which I have for my mill. It saves a lot of wear and tear on your arm. BUT it was sent back to the supplier 3 times with a fault. It did not accelerate smoothly, making cutting difficult. Thankfully it was replaced, free of charge and has worked perfectly for the past year,

I think there is someone in your area called Paul Sims, who could well produce at least one drive, if you can't get a wiper/ window winder motor, you might look at adapting an old battery drill, and a battery charger of suitable size, or similar power supply. Just a thought. Ian S C
