I am trying to make a 1/4 scale wheel hub to a Rudge Whitworth design of a type fitted to Crossley cars. The hub has 60 spokes (2 outer rows of 12 spokes and the inner 2 rows of 18 spokes).
What I am having difficulty with, even with access to a real example, is weather the outer rows of spokes are offset from the centre of rotation. It looks like they are drilled on centre line but the car owner thinks they are offset. It is extremely hard to tell because the spokes are bent by about 120 degrees as they exit the hub.
Can anybody enlighten me if they are meant to be offset and by how much.
