      Hi all-

I am looking for a few parts for a mill drill i recently got my hands

on. I am looking for the elevation rack and spindle pulley.

I realise this is a very long shot so any advice links or leads

      Are more than appreciated.

      Many thanks Guy

I think the PDM 20 has been sold under various guises over the years by Naerok, Alpine, Axminster, Clarke, Warco and others.

I think (though you would need to confirm) Axminster sold it as the ZX25, manual and parts list here:

          axminstertools.com/media/downloads/700093_manual.pdf

(If that doesn't work, just search Axminster ZX25)

Axminster have been very helpfull to me in the past when trying to source parts for older machines, there was a long lead time and parts were not cheap though!

A search for 'Step Pulley' may come up with something suitable for the spindle drive.

I won't be the only one here with a large box of spare step pulleys. If you specify some more details I might be inclined to see what I've got. Let's start with the bore size, number of steps and belt section size.

Wow , thanks gents. So the shaft on my mill is tapered from 38mm

To 41mm using section A belts and should be 4 step.

A tapered bore makes it much less likely anyone will have a suitable pulley. I have have one pulley with a tapered bore but it is undersized and lacks enough meat to be bored out to your required size. In any case, you'd also need to specify the taper dimension.

How about turning an adapter (tapered bore onto plain shaft) then using a single groove pulley? It might get you going until something better comes along.

Yes i would be willing to to turn the centre out of

A pulley. Do you have one suitable ?

Guessing that the machine is a RF20. The securing nut for the pulley on the spindle is likely to be Left had.

The pulley for the spindle will have 4 grooves.

The pulley on the motor will have four grooves as will the intermediate pulley.

In this way the machine mwill mhave 12 speeds.

A little while ago, there was a thread on hers asking for sizes of the pulleys on a RF20 or RF25.

If you can find the thread, towards the end there should be a list of the sizes of the pulley grooves.

With a Single Phase motor, presumably running at 1470 rpm, on 50Hz AC you should get speeds of

90, 170, 200,250, 280, 360, 600, 700, 950, 1290, 1590, 2150, according to how the belts are arranged., according to the plate on the front of the head.

https://cdn0.grizzly.com/partslists/g0705_pl.pdfThe picture looks a lot like the museum's drill mill pulley fitting. The thread on that is left hand and there is no key. I downloaded a Grizzley manual pdf for one of their mills and it is very similar.
