Has anybody got any idea what this is?

IT's not really on its side. It is however cluttering up my shed!,

If your image appears sideways, click 'edit' then right-click the image and choose 'rotate' for the required direction.

I don't know what make it is but probably dates pre war. Nice legs, should have got Dougal to sell to Drew Pritchard!

                That looks quite 'purposeful' Andy

Wish I had room to give it a new home … but there is no chance.

The sad thing is that it is probably worth more as just the legs than as a complete lathe, quite a good price can be had for "industrial" tables. So worth think about stripping it to bare iron and adding a crude top to it if you want shot of it.

I'll go and put my tin hat on now, J

I can see my 24" square surface plate sitting nicely on top of those legs…….

In depths studies give me a distinctive home made / tool room made feel. gonna go on a limb and say it is made in 1949 and was the second one built. Maybe the little XX logo would identify it
