Could someone please let me have photographs and/or drawings of the headstock-end of an ML 10 bed, with the headstock [etc] removed.

I am interested to see the size & shape of the bed, and any machined faces that may be present on that end.

      Many Thanks

      MichaelG.

I have an ML10. The bed is the same shape throughout it's length. Ground on the top and the dovetail section which are at 60 deg to the bed. I am not prepared to remove the headstock to take a photo ( don't expect anyone else would either)

I’ve got a Speed 10 and it’s exactly the same as Engine Builder states. The headstock clamps onto the dovetail of the bed rather than bolted down in the manner of most other lathes.

              Thanks chaps,

I wasn't expecting anyone to dismantle their lathe especially to help me !!

… but I did hope that, in this community, someone might have restored an ML 10 and documented their progress.

Just in case someone can help me; let me clarify:

I am aware that the bed has a continuous, uniform, dovetail … that is why I am interested.

What I was hoping to see was the detail at the end of the bed [i.e. the perpendicular bit] which is normally concealed by the change-wheels.

              MichaelG.

                    Michael,

I have an ML 10 also and it just like looking at the tail stock end with the tail stock flush to the end.

                      Sorted now …

Image 64 in Stick's link was exactly what I needed to see.
