Does anyone have a copy of the above ME issue? If so, would they be willing to e-mail me a scanned copy of LBSC's Hielan Lassie article.

      Issue 2335 – Feb 7th 1946.

David – you might want to re-check the issue details. I have the version you specify and the only LBSC item is a 'general' item about steam – nothing about Hielan Lassie.

Also the Hielan Lassie articles were repeated in the late '50s so it may be in that series as well.

What exactly were you looking for?

Thanks for your prompt responses. I was looking for the machining details of the wheels for Hielan Lassie.
LBSC refers back to them in the instructions for Juliet.. I found the issue number from the ME on-line index by Alex Cameron at http://www.itech.net.au/modelengineer/index.php

According to that database Issue 2335 Page 138 covered Heilan Lassie "Axlebox details and assembly, coupled wheels and crankpins, straight axles and pump eccentric ". The issue no./ date cross reference may not be right but it should be not far off.

You now see one of the deep joys in trying to read a locomotive serial written by LBSC – references to back numbers!

I have located the Petrolea reference, however it is in a bound volume – I have not scanned it and will not get chance until the weekend at the earliest.

                    It is Volume 90, Issue 2226, Jan 6th 1944 pp16, 17, 19

PM if you would like me to.
