        Hi all,

Just a daft little project to pass an hour or two in the workshop.

Titanium bar turned to make a plug and socket affair.

Neodymium magnet in each end, make sure you observe polarity.

Couple of M5 lifting eyes and bingo. A key holder that is easily detached from your belt.

Heat it carefully and it'll go an amazing blue.

Hi Plasma, nice looking idea, but could the key or the holder catch on something accidently as you pass by and you not notice that it's gone, or an opportunist trying their luck.

            Regards Nick.

              Morning Plasma

That looks good, did you have any issues tapping or fitting the eye bolts – i am guessing they are not titanium ? I was thinking back to when I use to use it a lot in Petro chem and we were always warned of dis similar materials and Titanium

              either way it looks good

I've not tested the breakaway strength but having worn it around the house and garden and not suffered any detachments it seems ok.

I did worry about loss and so a security chain is clipped on when out and about.

Only problem was in tapping the titanium, it's tough stuff so I took things nice and steady.

It's quite convenient in use as you just pop your keys off, sort the lock and then they clip back together really smoothly.

Similar thing on a gadget website set me thinking about the idea.
