Picked up this box a while ago at auction. Out of curiosity does anyone know what it is for? John Edgington made tent and rope and canvas parts so a blower doesn't seem to be in their usual product line.

I think a lot of the ex MOD blowers that are use to raise steam were intended to cool radios. Though looking at the type of things they list on the label maybe blowing up the generals airbed would be a possibility

Looks like I was closer to the truth than I thought with my second comment

Edgington amalgamated with Silver to become Silver and Edgington, Who then became part of Thomas Black who sold tents and airbeds

I have a identical blower that I use for raising steam on my loco. (3 1/2 gauge).

I had to "strangle" the air quite a bit as it will otherwise raise a full head of steam before I get onto putting coal in the firebox!

Might be current then. I came across a bunch of inflatable tanks while driving on a remote road in N. Scotland a few years ago. Round the corner, on the other side of a small hill, was a portable Rapier battery with crew. Shortly afterwards a pair of Harriers roared over. (RAF not feathered but I was happy 'cos I'd just seen a pair on Black Throated Divers).
