horn plates etc fitted but having trouble getting them to turn freely.All until i tighten horn plate mounting bolts then they tighten up.
Hi,Says on the instruction sheet that the blower pipe diameter should be reduced to about the diameter of a pin to help get a good draught. Does that sound about right?

Yes on such a small engine you need the velocity that the small opening produces to get a decent draw.
My 2" fowler only has a 1.2mm opening

My instructions do not even mention it, so guess there may have been a problem and you have updated ones ?
Mines a 1978.
