Hoglet V Twin Con Rod Casting

I’ve been thinking about building the Hoglet V Twin and I am very much enjoying the current build thread.

With my recent venture into casting I thought I’d try a few experiments with 3D printing to see if I could make a pattern for the Hoglet con rod, and then cast it in aluminium. This is just a prototype to see if it could work – a bit of fine tuning of the pattern is needed and the machining was rough and ready. But, none the less it shows promise!

Nice looking casting but watch which aluminium you use to cast it from, it should be 2014 (HE15) but that is a tempered alloy so you may not get the strength and wear qualities if you just melt raw stock
