EMVIO Engineering EMV-25BB mill

Hi,

I am thinking of getting a new mill and EMVIO Engineering EMV-25BB mill popped up in a search.

I have never heard of them before, does anyone know of EMVIO or have one of the mills. Or recognise the mill and what else it might be called?

Looks like one of the Weiss machines so similar to an Amadeal AMAT25lv, one of the Warcos etc

Basically a commodity import.

Before considering purchase you need to know whether Emivo have the resources to provide proper support if needed and to be around for some time. Moderately smart website gives little feel for how much real substance they have. Clearly they have ambitions but does their reach exceed their grasp.

Far too easy to get batches of machines made by "we put your badge on it" firms these days. Regrettably its unlikely that small importers will get best of breed units from such firms. Safer options are the longer established firms who have had a chance to build a relationship with thier suppliers.

Skimming through the blog is "interesting".

You have hit my concern exactly on the head. I have not been in this game long enough to know all the suppliers, and can't tell if it is a new company or just new to me.

On the face of it, the spec of the machine seems just right form me, and the price seems low. Could be a bargain or …

I have looked at the Weiss site and can see similar machines, but not all the details are the same ie knobs and switches. So I don't know if it is a Weiss or a clone.

From a cursory glance at their web site, it looks very much like the Amadeal VM25LV mill, as Jason has suggested. This, in itself, appears to be an progression from the Amadeal XJ-12 mill that I purchased in 2010, upgraded in terms of table size, brushless motor belt drive and the DRO equipment. One hundred pounds cheaper from Amadeal, though. The EMV offering has very similar specifications except the motor power is quoted as 0.75kW against 1.1kW for the Amadeal, but that could be the difference between input and output power. Neither specify which applies. The EMV seems only to be available with an R8 up the spout, Amadeal gives you a choice of R8 or MT3.

I've had good service from Amadeal, albeit some while ago, others on here will doubtless tell a different tale. "Yer pays yer money and takes yer choice"
