Carriage handwheel for Clarke CL500M and CL430

For anyone that was interested in the halfnut nut conversion I did previously, I have now added a carriage handwheel to move the carriage up and down the bed once the halfnut has been disengaged.

It works really well and is a bit more graceful that sliding the carriage by hand.

If anyone would like more details I do have a drawing with most of the measurements

Thanks John! I just need to redo the drawing as it is now covered in oil and dirt and a bit unreadable, then I'll email it to you.

Very nice and good to hear that Axle F is alive and kicking.

Im gonna need one of those as well. My heart sank when I first used my lathe and found the saddle feed handle at the end of the machine.

This is great. I came across this forum from looking at the YouTube video. I have the same CL430 lathe. The handle on the end of the leadscrew is a bit annoying and have often wondered if there was a way to improve it.

I would be interested to know more about how it works, parts source and drawings.
