      Hi James

Good to hear you’re now up and running again. Sounds as though my hunch about the circuit diagram NOT being for your machine was right. Andrew might have thrown some light on that saying that the board on his machine is by Erskine. Might be worth seeing if you can find a circuit diagram for that, or see if you can find any serial numbers or makers marks on your circuit board that may identify it. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the board has been changed at some time during the life of your machine for a newer version, or an alternative from a source other than Bridgeport. The 6F board does look a bit old hat and I’m sure that the control could be done better using more a modern approach with more up-to-date components.

Best of luck – happy milling!

      Keith

I wonder if anyone can help me, I have an Adcock and Shipley Bridgeport mill circa 1976, can anyone tell me how to adjust the mechanism which kicks out the drive when I am using power down feed.

The feed works o k in both down and up modes, but when I try to get it to stop on the knurled vertical screw, it just "ticks" and doesn't throw the lever outwards I notice these is a small mock allen screw underneath the shaft which bears on the rectangular bar which fits between the upper and lower pieces, has this any bearing on the "stop" function?

Further, on trying to engage back gear, there is an abominable noise, sounds like the dog clutch is not engaging properly, has anyone any ideas on how to fix this please?

You can contact me on keithrussell10 <at> yahoo.com

Many thanks in advance for your help, kind regards

            Hi Keith,
This may be what you want.

This is from a PDF I have of the manual. (It may not be the correct version for your machine.) Let me know if you would like me to email a copy of the manual to you.

            Les.

                Hi Keith,
I've just had a look at my inbox to see if I have received a PM from you and I have not. The PM system on this forum is very useful to exchange email addresses without putting them on the forum posts. This avoids the risk of spam. I hope the adjustment solved your problem.

                Les.
