Hello, I am considering building a scratch built Class 08 shunter in 71/4″ gauge. Can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain some good drawings. There are some free drawings on the Web, but on closer inspection these are dimensioned for 7.5″ gauge. Thanks, Howard

You might be better off with the 5in Charlatan plans so it is obvious that every dimension has to be scaled. The 7.5″ version might be actually 7 1/4″ with tweaks to widen the gauge so check something around the body for dimensional accuracy plus of course considering how important true scale is to you.

I’ve inherited a part built 5″g Edward Thomas. I know the previous owner had it in his possession for many years without making any progress, so I’m happy that it doesn’t fall into the commercial after some date category. Before I subject if to 2* pressure test, anybody recognise the marking stamped on the20251105_160103 foundation ring. It appears to be EI1. Sorry this has gone in wrong thread

I’ve created a new topic for this, could a mod delete the above post? Ta
