A mini-competition for MEW readers to celebrate our forthcoming 250th Issue!
Unlike the usual nonsense, this one requires the application of a little wit.
Eagle-eyed and sharp-brained readers of MEW may have spotted a cryptic theme running though some of the sub headings in the magazine.
Whoever can spot the theme and post up the longest list of examples and their explanations in this thread by 12:00 noon on Sunday 18 December will win a small Christmas present from the editorial goody-bag.
Naturally, I will only count the first time each one is spotted, so wait too long and someone else will win! You can put up more than one posting if you spot more examples. Otherwise ordinary MTM competition T&Cs apply.
The prize will be small enough that readers anywhere in the world can enter. My decision is final on whether or not one has been properly spotted and explained – a mention has to be both to count. That said if someone comes up with a particularly apposite example that was unintentional I will claim it as my own and allocate the point.
Now the clue – it's a half answer to the example that will be in Issue 250. the heading in question is 'Hexagone' but a bonus point will be given for the first correct explanation.
Entry format is just a post here with a list of headings (and the issue number in case I don't recognise where one came from!) with their explanations.
No email entries and my decision is final, no haggling.
It's a small prize, but one worth winning.
Good luck!
Neil
