Is it just me or is that image of the Elvis lookalike with safety specs that stares out of the ARC ad on the homepage just a little unnerving. Every time I visit this site I find the image a tad spooky. Mind you it serves its purpose in attracting attention.

No, I cant see Elvis, all I see is an attractive young lady.

Jason, next time you speak to Ketan can you ask him not to have such images on his ads as it scares some of our members, probably a picture of Nora Batty in her wellies would be less scary for them..

I am with you on this, It is NOT attractive. Airbrushed springs to mind. Not in a good way.

I've just had a closer look and by jings it is a female image, but I'm not sure if that makes it any less spooky.

On a second note (while looking for your location) I spotted that you, like myself, understand the attributes of desiccant dehumidifiers and were – back in 2009 – going to design a system to automate the running time for minimum leccy cost. Did it ever progress, because I would be interested in how you did it.

Currently, my simple timer circuit is adequate for reducing the atmospheric moisture, but probably insufficient to maintain the workshop temperature (at times) on the setting of 2 hours run-time per night. I am clearly being conservative and running the dehumidifier more than necessary as I don’t like the workshop machinery getting too cold!

Now that I know the image is female I am beginning to warm to her, but enough said about that.

I didn't ever get round to sorting anything out with the dehumidifier mainly because my well insulated wooden workshop has proved to be very good with regard to condensation. The only thing I now use are the small silica gel units that can be plugged in overnight to remove the moisture from the silica gel. I stick one under the cover of the lathe and another under the cover of the mill over the winter months and they get dried out about once a week. I am not sure they are even needed but it gives me peace of mind.

Looks like I am late to the discussion, but I would never have thought that "PPE Guy" was female or looked like Elvis.

But the look was seriously creepy, I also had to scroll away from it as quickly as possible.

I just HAVE to try to balance the thread. Neither creepy nor spooky, IMO.

A few wimps with nervous dispositions?

Her picture likely adorns the wall of a few work-places, if the truth were known.

I ‘m not asking for her to come back, but I was certainly not flunked out by the pic and it would not make a difference were it to reappear.
