      Firstly, hello all !!!!

I've only just signed up here and can already see it becoming a very useful resource for the foreseeable future. Having Googled many engineering related subjects I have often stumbled across this site anyway, so joining up seems the logical thing to do having the benefit of everyone's individual input derived from personal experiences.

Anyway, I've been sorting out my garage workshop for the last few months, and sorted some nice kit, Colchester Chipmaster, Fobco star, AEW Viceroy vertical milling machine, AEW wet grinder, RJH Gryphon bench grinder/polisher (New old stock – eBay bargain !!). Along with the machines I've sorted out a large amount of quality second hand tooling so pretty pleased so far.

I've managed to sort out an operating manual for the lathe along with some other literature at no cost by downloading and printing out, but I can't seem to find any info for the milling machine other than the history on Lathes.co.uk. Does anybody have a manual for the this milling machine (vertical model) they are willing to part with or copy etc, or know where I could download one free. I know you can get them from Tony at lathes.co.uk, but rather pricey from memory (£40)

      Any help or advice appreciated

Welcome to the forum. However, I think your sobriquet may be a misnomer, as it would appear that you have acquired real machines rather than 'toys'. wink 2

                Hi,

Do a web search for a guy called Steve Larner, I know he has a manual he is prepared to share [ or was ] but is pretty basic so best you don't spend the £40 or so on a poor photocopy of just a few pages.

Steve used to be on quite a few forums a while ago but seem to have lost tough with him lately.

Hi and welcome – hope we get to see lots of photo's / video's of all that very nice sounding equipment in action…

                  Cheers.

                  Allan.

Sounds like a great setup. Is this the one? If so thank the guys at the Denford forum.

yesThanks for the warm welcome guys.

Thanks John, I took your advice and sent Steve Larner a PM, so my fingers are crossed for a result. Thanks for the link Andrew but unfortunately it's not the manual I'm after which is a shame.

This is mine, vertical model AEW Viceroy/horizon:

                      The chippie:

I'll post some further photos up soon when the workshop is finished up, I had a slight condensation issue in the garage during the winter so I had to spend a small fortune insulating the loft space with celotex and lining with correx. Also adding extra lighting and heat. The workshop has also been treated to a fully insulated Horman sectional door which has 42mm thick insulated panels between a double skin door. Hopefully this will be the sucker punch to the condensation once fitted, time will tell. My only regret is I didn't do this long before filling the garage with heavy metal.

                            Hi Toys4boys,

Welcome to the forum, as Andrew says, your equipment doesn't look like toys at all.

The links you have inserted to display your photos include URL and IMG tags that you must remove. I have taken the liberty to try and insert a working Link to the first photo, hope that's Ok.

                            Link second photo, third photo.

                            Chipmaster photo1, photo2.

Thanks Thor, I thought the links looked a bit long. How do you get them to display as a photo rather than a link, as on a different forum I use. I usually go the photo in photobucket, click the info tag, copy the IMG tag, and then paste it into my text on the forum which shows as a link until you post. At that point, the photo displays for all to see.

T, not sure about your photos, maybe you are trying to post them too big, aim for something like 640 x 480, it took me ages to sort that out when I first started. Welcome aboard. Ian S C

                                      Hi Tam,

I've edited your post. You need to use the button that looks like a little painting, next to the camera icon, and just paste in the image link (not that huge lump of html).

Edit: For clarity the link needed is the bit in between the [IMG] … [/IMG] tags in the HTML.

Please also set the image width to 500 to ensure it displays properly.

drop me a pm and you will have it next week

do you have all the gears for the powder feed?

if yes can you give me the tooth count.

Glad to see another fan of the multifix tool holders as well.
