I've never taken much notice of the bits and pieces in my DTI boxes – if they do the job then that's OK for me. Today though I had a need to modify a dovetail clamp to suit a job that I'm doing.

If you look at the thread on the LH side of the clamp I want to make a knurled knob to fit the thread. Easy I thought until I checked the thread. It is 7.2mm diameter and my metric thread gauge indicates a pitch of .065mm.
I have a good collection of taps, some wierd but nothing that will do this job.
