        Hi Chaps

Just measured the spindle speeds on my Super 7 which is fitted with a Newton Tesla CL750 inverter drive package. In case others are interested I thought I would share.

Top Speeds in the ungeared ranges are:-

        2410, 1780, 1300, 940, 700, 530, 390, and 280.

which is about 15% faster than than a fixed speed motor on the top ratio and somewhat more than that in the lowest.

Not ground breaking I know, but I had access to a tacho so I thought I would check.

        regards Martin

What is the maximum frequency set to from the VFD? I'd guess it's possibly 15% more than 50Hz. Most VFDs can be set to a far higher frequency.

I have no idea Brian. As I specified this is the Newton Tesla motor speed controller package which is a bolt on. It is as it comes. I am not complaining at all and I am aware that the unit is doing just what you suggest regarding output frequency.

I merely wanted to know what the new speed ranges were and now I do.

            regards Martin
