Trying to disassemble the dial (right hand side). Also to unscrew the locking collars either side of the leadscrew (trying to take table off to get machine through door!) Anybody else done this please?

Not done yours but they can be pretty sneaky

A collar with a hole which aligns with a grubscrew or slotted screw

double grubscrews one on top of the other

Dunno if Victoria had a "house style" but according to the manual on the U2 – V2 series there are a pair of ring style locking nuts with slots around the edges on each side of the bush that the dial runs on. Small one on the outside let into the dial. Large one on the inside pulling up against the screw bearing on one side (right?) and against a shoulder on the screw on the other side.

Need a pair of tube spanners with appropriate projections to deal with the nuts.

Its about 30 years since I had any involvement with disassembling a Victoria mill but the pictures in the manual I have more or less agree with my memories of the job. Lots of crud to dig out to unveil the outer "nut".

My, very rough, copy of the book just shows a simple single sided handle clamped onto the square end of the leadscrew. The one I helped with had a proper balanced handle held on by a screw down the middle.

I had the same model many years ago, my first milling machine, and one thing I remember is having to remove a taper pin from the leadscrew for some reason, possibly to remove the screw from the table.
