Hi All,

A neighbour popped round today for a cuppa and gave me this which he found under a pile of junk in his shed and was going to bin it but decided to see if I wanted it.

Hooked it up to my airline, filled the reservoir with oil and away it went! The knurled collar near the hose is the control and it sounds like the loudest but smoothest dentist drill you ever heard. Made in USA and says 60,000rpm not a typo! Collet is about dremel size and there are two small wrenches with it.

I have been thinking about trying to make a small VERY simple toolpost grinder and this looks like it might work. Any thoughts please?

Hi Martin; go for it ! should be simple enough to make a split collar to fit into your tool post. just remember to fit your collar blank into the tool post first then drill with the chuck set up, that will get it on centre height .

I have one similar, just remember to lubricate it very frequently with air oil (very thin oil, I get mine from Cromwell tools) The bearings will burn out if not and the motor blades will wear. I use a inline air lubricator.

It's interesting to note that the Patent number relates to 'Air Line Oiler' , not to the air-motor itself.
