Not my cup of cocoa, but I know some on here are into old iron, looks like a useful bit of kit, and currently on at less than scrap value…………..fUAAOSwopRYji~C”>http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bonny-Flat-Belt-Electric-Lathe-Barn-Find-/391690387277?hash=item5b3290ff4d:gfUAAOSwopRYji~C

Or the classification 'Used' on a fifty or hundred-year-old item.

Looks like it needs to be driven by a Cornish Tracktor! 😀 love the old machine tools in their disheveled condition

This old lathe has a series of three selectable notches in the lower apron, I have been told that Colchester lathes are similarly equipped.

I am intrigued—can anyone tell me what purpose they serve please?

                            Regards
                            Brian
