Hi, chaps.i have an old 5 inch gauge locomotive which as boiler feeds for axle and hand pump only.i would like to fit an injector as there is a lot of stationary time at my local club.i dont wish to cut into the boiler if possable.would it be ok to use the handpump input to boiler.fitting an inline none return valve on the handpump outlet side just before the injector feed to the boiler.what are your views on this thanks.michael

Personally I would connect the hand pump and the axle pump to one clack via a t-piece and connect the the new clack to other clack. I have s imilar arrangement on one of my engines, you just got remember to shut the bypass valve when you want to use the hand pump.

          Regards Luigi
