Trying to disable the ‘enter is send’ option. I follow the instructions to settings/chats, but the option to turn this off has gone. MiccySoft want me to join some paid service to find out how to sort this. They must be smoking something illegal. Anyone know how?

Option still there on my Android. the slider is greyed out so off. touch or slide that to the right and it turns green for on.

Computer or phone? It sounds like you are talking the former and Jason teh latter.
Try “shift enter” which often does slightly different things, as it does on this forum.

            Like what I just did.

If you’re using whatsapp web go to settings then select Chats and you should see the slider to disable it.

It’s the bottom slider of a group of three, perhaps it’s dropped off the bottom of your screen.

As I said in my original post the option to turn it off isn’t there, for those who don’t believe me here’s a screen shot. I know I can use shift+return but it’s not intuitive, and once you’ve sent using return it is very messy having to start another message. Another example of fixing something that wasn’t broken?

As you say – it’s not broken. What’sapp is designed for sending quick one-liners not rivals to War&Peace.

Option still present in the web browser version (web.whatsapp.com), try that instead of the app?
