Some people are born with lathes and some have lathes thrust upon them

I now have a Relmac of average conditions with what appears to be all parts and a 10 year old layer of grease and dust along with its makers cast iron stand.

I have my Keighley for big stuff and CJ18A for small stuff. The Relmac sits there as a more worn out, obsolete version of the CJ18A. Apart from sticking it on ebay, the easy and sensible option, are there any alternate uses for a small lathe? Some other machine to use it as a base for?

[if you have the space] …

Might be worth keeping it for grinding/lapping/polishing work; to keep abrasives away from the others.

Or put a milling/drilling spindle onto it, and use it as dividing/graduating machine.

Pass it on, I have an old T&LM and when I get the back gear replaced on my Rockwell 10" the T&LM will go on ebay as I need the space.

Only use I can think of is perhaps leave it set up for boring work, the tee slot table would help with that.

              Anchor for your yacht?

Failing that, E-bay seems sensible. Better it sees use than take up space to no purpose, or is wrecked by use as a grinder bed.

              Regards

              Richard.
