      hi im new to this forum and need some help with a dividing head i just purchased.I bought this dividing head as a job lot of used machine tools and when i got it home i had a closer look only to find it has 2 indexing plates and 2 cranks the outer set is marked 40-1 and the inner set is marked 46-1.I cant find a maker name plate but FJDA is stamped in a few places.My question is can anyone shed any light on this head i,ve searched the web and come up blank.I will try to put up pictures later today.

          Mark the shaft and crank the handle, see how many handle turns give you one full shaft rotation it's probably 40:1

          Once you find out the ratio all you're interested in is the number of divisions provided by the various hole circles on the plates as that's what will determine the number of divisions possible in a circle,

            FJDA is the old name for Fujian Benz Automotive Co., Ltd, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujian_Benz

            Let's hope they aren't undertaking a world-wide hunt for their missing dividing head…
