I recently bought a box of bits from a fellow gliding club member. Having extracted the tools that might be useful, and binned the scrap, I'm left with the following items. They're free to anyone who wants them. First a simple toolbox:

      And some insert tooling:

I can't find out much about the insert tooling, I don't have any spare inserts and can't even work out how the inserts are presented to the work. The inserts either seem side on, or at the bottom? I suspect these tools are well past their sell by date.

If anyone is interested I live near Cambridge.

The top four are grooving tools i think, i believe sandvik had the patent for these diagrit insert holders.

That makes sense for the Wimet holders, in which case I definitely don't have any suitable inserts. What threw me on the top left Diagrit holders is that the inserts are tapered with a radius on them, so definitely couldn't be used for grooving. Even odder is that the taper is such that the side of the insert shown is the bottom. May be a previous owner has installed the wrong inserts? Either way I suspect that the tools are heading for the recycling bin.

I had one of those toolboxes a long time ago. I think Halfords used to sell them.

The inserted tooling is shown the wrong way up. The insert is supposed to point upwards, so the shank is put into the toolpost with the thinnest section vertical. Probably find the inserts are no longer available.

It varies – 20×20, 25×20 and 20×25, all in millimetres.
