Supplier of cast elbows and tees?

A few weeks ago I came across a supplier of model steam fittings who supplied sticks of cast elbows and tees for home machining.

Now I cannot find it again, can someone point me to them?

P M Research in the states do them, Forrest Classics over here carry some of the PMR range but not all.

Or do you want nut and nipple type fittings?

Aah, that would be telling Bill!

I had a look at those from Kennions and they would be very good for many applications but i need ones that have a scale appearance and the ones from Forrest Classics are perfect.

Hopefully not more pipe fittings, think I have enough for now! Their trees include straight couplers, 45deg and X fittings as well as the usual elbows and tees

As Brian is working on a Ford Quad I thought it likely he would want this type of fitting as the Americans tend to plumb their steam and IC engines with this style of pipework rather than nuts and nipples used on UK Models.

You're absolutely correct about the fittings being for the Ford Jason, the only problem is that the Ford was originally made using commercial tees and elbows but later on Henry changed them for bent piping to improve the coolant flow.

I was originally looking at ready made fittings but that would have cost getting on for £100 but using the ones from Forrest Classics and machining them myself is much cheaper.

The only problem now is that they need to be used for 7/32" pipe and I'm not sure if the ones for 3/16" tube will have enough material to accommodate that, given that there is no pressure or structural stresses involved.

Ive seen Keith Appleton use Forrest elbows and he's had to re-tap them as the thread in them is US

The U S tapped ones are probably the single finished machined items bought in from P M R in America as opposed to the casting sticks.

The threaded PMR ones are supposed to work with ME threads, maybe you got the tapered ones and that is why you had to tap them out. See details here

I've always bought the unmachined trees and zig-zag of street elbows and mostly tap them 40tpi ME though do also use metric fine if it's a metric model.

Brian, the 3/16" ones have an OD of 1/4" so you may just get away with 7/32×40 threads, next up the 1/4" ones have and OD of 0.315"
