Has anyone got any experience with this vertical slide from RDG?

I have a few jobs which need doing asap and there is a big price difference between this and a Myford one. Was hoping a second hand large Myford might come on ebay, but it hasn't and I really need to get one or two jobs done next week.

Someone suggested a Wacco one, but they can only supply them in Metric.

As I say any feedback on the RDG very welcome.

          .

RDG and Myford are the same parent company. (now)

Some of the products by default cross over to each other. – I have no idea if this is the case or not with the vertical slides mentioned.

But I have seen in the flesh (so to speak) the RDG offering a couple of years ago at the Harrogate exhibition. IMHO (and just mine) it's worthy of the title of door stop and nothing more.

            Oh… that's a shame. I see the RDG one is 4" x 5", the Myford – although I cannot see a size – seem smaller. Maybe 3" x 4" is that correct?

I guess I will have to keep looking. Does anyone know a website that sells good quality second hand Myford bits?

James , Try G and M tools at Ashington sussex, I have bought a lot tools etc from them over the past 20 years,a good reliable supplier.Currently their website shows several Myford slides, better to pay a bit more for a genuine part than some of the dubious imported items, some imports are ok some are rubbish the snag is trying to find out which are the good ones, at least the Myford parts from the original company are reliable ,square and true.I bought my Myford slide nearly fifty years ago and its still very good.At the time I bought the swivelling slide as the table was larger than the fixed slide, some people do not like the swivelling slide as they say the swivel moves, I was apprentice trained and you use your machines carefully ,so many people are impatient nowadays and expect Bridgeport performance from a small machine.I machined the majority of an Allchin on my Myford with its vertical slide.
