So a busy weekend, after almost two years of talking about it my latest bit of kit has finally arrived 😀 a very nice 1974 myford super 7, so spent most of yesterday setting up and leveling the base cabinet ect, so next job is to somehow actually get the lathe up and bolted to the base, which could be fun between my 70year old dad and myself, plus just ordered a DRO to fit which should be here mid week so by the weekend I can start playing 😀

They do say men don’t really grow up, just the toys get more and more expensive 😂😂😂

"Big Boys Toys" are what they are called. Have fun with yours.

Where abouts are you Allan B? I'd help with installation if you're local

Hi Curtis, I am based in the middle of Cheshire, just outside of Northwich.

Hi Allan B. Enjoy fitting the DRO to your lathe! I have just started fitting the Z axis DRO to my Myford Super 7. It seems to be taking me a long time, learning as I go but enjoyable. I have my 91 year old dad giving me words of wisdom. I'm not too far from you on the Wirral.

Hi Andy, yer not too far away, as for the time to fit the DRO, I was hoping to fit the whole thing in an afternoon 😯😯😯

                    This is mine –

I did it this way in order to keep the capacity, capability and clearances of the lathe as designed, I can use the fixed and travelling steady and the taper attachment.

Nick, that is one hell of an installation, bit more than I was planning on doing, once the kit is here I might have to print out what you have done and look at the bits I have got.
