Gald to see you are thinking of getting in touch with a club right from the start. Too often people don't get involved when they haven't finished a loco and don't have a shed full of machines whereas the opposite is true.
I think there are two in Yeovil and one in Trowbridge. What you do is google the town name followed by model engineer and see what pops up. It won't only be the societies with that town name that are listed so you will be able to decide whether 'West Wilts MES" is near you or easy to get to. It does illustrate the inconvenience of clubs naming themselves after something other than the town they are based in.
If there isn't a club in your own town it is worth contacting all of the surrounding clubs to see if they have members in your town who can share lifts to the meetings and maybe get together socially as well.
