new mission to the moon

Lots of times recently the crew of the new mission to circle the moon have stated that no other humans have seen the dark side of the moon before… would apollo 8 which circled the moon 10 times not have seen it

I think all of the moon missions involved orbitting the moon, maybe as the landers were timed to use available sunlight on the nearside, the “darkside” would not have been well lit at the time.

Oh is that what they mean..so if they orbited 10 times in succesion there wouldnt have been any daylight so they could have looked at the DSOTM

Hi, there are still a many people who don’t believe anyone has ever walked on the moon, let alone travelled past the far side, and I know one or two that think like that.
