ignition of i/c engine

I have finished the Rockerthump engine by Brian Rupnow and would like suggestions as to the ignition before TDC.The engine is single cylinder and has a 1.375 cylinder .

Can't you ask Brian on one of the forums he frequents, I'm sure he will say what his is set at and maybe suggest he adds a note to the drawings.

Failing that I usually find about 5deg BTDC works but most of my engines I incorporate a means to advance and retard the timing so it can be tweaked as needed, I quite like a slow lumpy tickover on some which needs timing differently to an engine built for speed and power.
