      Hi All,

The title description just about does it – I am after a an M12 fine thread (1.25) machine screw that is 70mm long and fully threaded. All I can find are bolts that are part threaded. I only need two off

Does anyone know of any good suppliers of this? Specialist or otherwise.

      Thanks

(PS Please dont divert this thread into a discussion about the differences between a machine screw and a bolt – thanks)

You might haqve a bit more luck searching for "sets" as the fully threaded hex head screws are often sold by that name though a quick look seems to stop at 50mm long.

Any chance of threading the rest of a bolt?

PS 1.25mm pitch is extra fine not fine

Try Arun Fasteners http://arunfastenerco.uktc.com/Home-index.html. What head do you want, hexagon like a set screw or cap head set screw.

They only have 100 mm, but you can shorten them, Niko.

                  .

I bought a length of M12 x 1.25 studded rod a little while ago to make adjustable lathe leveling feet.

It's a common thread stud size I think for automotive wheel nuts. – Just cut to required length and then you could loctite 638 or weld a nut on to make a full thread bolt.

I will try and find a link for some for you.

                  Nick

Edit :- Oooops. Just seen the machine screw and not a bolt bit.

If you mean hex headed and fully threaded, you could try your local motorcycle shop, The various metric fine threads are often used on Japanese bikes, but sometimes have a different spanner size, maybe 17mm rather than 19mm.

                    Regards Bill

Thanks all. Very helpful comments – I will give the links a go and all else failing studding is a good idea.

Hex head would be preferable but not overly fussed. Curiously, the bolt that it is replacing (only 40mm) is 18mm across flats on its head which threw me a bit.
